Alexander Sorloth wants to leave Atletico Madrid this Winter. Sorloth wants to leave to a club where he can play 90 minutes consistently. This move will happen either this Winter or next Summer. However, Sorloth wants out immediately as he wants to be ready for the World Cup.
Despite Sorloth’s eagerness to leave, Atletico is not keen on letting him go just yet. While Sorloth’s numbers are not so impressive this season, scoring only two goals in 11 appearances, we all know that he is capable of being one of LaLiga’s top goalscores.
Fenerbahce is one of the teams interested in Sorloth and they are willing to put a lot of money into this transfer. Newcastle United have also been linked to a Sorloth move. But again, for Atletico, the decision is simple, Sorloth is off the table.

As for Conor Gallagher, there have been rumors about a possible return to the Premier League. However, he says he is very happy in Madrid and wants to win titles with the team, while playing a larger and more important role in the squad.
When it comes down to who Atletico should have their eyes on this Winter, I think they need to look into signing a new left-back. The left-back position is the squad’s weak point right now with Matteo Ruggeri not quite finding his stride yet. Marc Cucurella is a player who has been linked to Atletico, but that move will most likely happen in the summer if anything happens. Ferland Mendy has also been linked to Atletico, but with Mendy being a part of the Los Blancos squad, the move might be challenging.
In my opinion that is the only thing Siemone’s squad lacks currently, as they are playing the best soccer of the season these past couple matchdays. The team spent a lot of money this past Summer for the second year in a row, so spending more in the Winter is not so necessary right now.
