Marc Cucurella, the Spanish left-back for Chelsea FC, could potentially be a top target for Atletico Madrid this summer. 

Cucurella is one of the most fit left-backs in the world. He plays a big role for Chelsea and also plays a pivotal role in Luis de la Fuente’s Spanish side that won the Euros in 2024. 

According to some British media, Diego Simeone feels Cucurella would fit his future plans with the club. As of now, Atletico’s long term plan with this transfer is to wait till the summer 2026 transfer window. 

Cucurella’s market value is listed at 45 million, but with a contract at Chelsea until 2028, Chelsea has the upper hand in negotiations. Transfer prices have not yet been established. 

Despite the signing of Matteo Ruggeri this summer, the left-back position remains one of the weaker points of Atletico. The club also has plans to part ways with Javi Galan, and with Cucurella being on Simeone’s radar, Ruggeri’s departure could also be imminent. 

With a clear need at left-back, Marc Cucurella could be a perfect fit for Simeone’s Atletico side, considering his attacking capabilities and strength in defense.
